Can I organise a Spirit Walk in my local neighbourhood?
Yes apply to be a team leader, you will need at least 4 walkers and 1 volunteer supporter.
I can’t walk 11 km, can I walk a shorter distance?
Yes these walks are inclusive, eligibility is 5 to 105 years old with walk distance options of 3km, 5km and 11kms. Select your distance when you register.
How will I know where to walk?
Uluru SpiritWalkers will be given a map and route marshalls wil be located every 1.5km to 2 kms along the walk. For Local Neighbourhood walks your team leader and their volunteers will guide you.
What will services and amenities (toilets) will be provided along the walk?
Your team leader will advise you what services and amenities are provided along the walk. For Uluru walkers there will be a few water stations along the way, route marshalls, and a paramedic service; there are two toilet blocks along the way.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers help out in a variety of ways including by being route marshals, Walk Check-In registers, and logistics support.
How do I volunteer? I would like to help, but not by walking.

I have registered as an Uluru SpiritWalker. Do I need to book my own hotel accommodation?
Yes once you have registered as a SpiritWalker you will receive a discount code that you can use to book your accommodation at any of the Ayers Rock Resort hotels…from 5-star hotel to campsite.

Do I need to organise my own transport to Uluru?
Yes you need to organise your own transport to Uluru, either by flying (there are daily flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane) or by driving. Details are at: https://spiritwalker.org.au/uluru-walk-details/
Uluru Bus transfers - What transfers are included in the registration fee?
Three transfers are included:
- Transfers from the hotels to the base of Uluru prior to the walk
- After the walk transfer from Uluru back to the hotels
- At 1pm on Monday 5 October, after the Celebratory lunch, transfer from the restaurant to the airport to catch the late afternoon flight to Brisbane
Note On arrival at Uluru bus transfers from the Ayers Rock airport to the hotel are not included.
The Event is to be organised by Dorcas ACTS and is intended to be an on-going event, possibly at different venues, occurring every year or two.
The Walk in the Spirit 2026 event is a nationwide charity initiative centred on a flagship 11 km walk around Uluru on Monday, 5 October 2026.
