Dorcas ACTS is a 100% volunteer-run organization, meaning all funds raised go directly to those in need.
The WITS Event also coincides with, and is supported by, the launch of a new inspirational novel “Walk in the Spirit” by Everald Compton and Neill Florence, aligning the event’s spiritual and charitable themes with a literary component.
This new novel was launched on Friday, 27 March 2026, at a special lunch held at Royal on the Park Hotel in Brisbane City. The event featured a specially created Uluru Beef Burger and was a full house, with 140 people attending. The launch raised over $7,000.

The Event is to be organised by Dorcas ACTS and is intended to be an on-going event, possibly at different venues, occurring every year or two.
The Walk in the Spirit 2026 event is a nationwide charity initiative centred on a flagship 11 km walk around Uluru on Monday, 5 October 2026.
