2026 Walk in the Spirit Event

The inaugural Walk in the Spirit event | October 2026

The inaugural Walk in the Spirit event took place on Monday 5 October 2026, Everald Compton celebrated his 95th birthday in a remarkable way by walking 11 kilometres around Uluru at dawn to raise funds for Dorcas ACTS.

Alongside Everald’s walk at Uluru, local walking groups and community members across Australia joined the initiative, united by a shared desire to help others and make a meaningful difference.

Whether you walked, gave generously, helped organise an event or spread the word, your support helped make this initiative a success and furthered the important work of Dorcas ACTS.

2026 Fundraising

The goal was to raise $100,000 to support the work of Dorcas ACTS, a 100% volunteer-run charity providing direct financial assistance to individuals and families facing times of crisis.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the original target was surpassed, and a new goal of $125,000 was set. We are delighted that this target was also exceeded, demonstrating the extraordinary impact we can make when people come together for a common cause.
