Walk in the Spirit

Local Walks

The Walk In The Spirit aka the Everald Walk campaign will include distributed local walks across Australia, with a target of 1,000 participants nationwide. Participating SpiritWalkers will complete walk distances from 3km to 11 km in their own communities on the same (or previous) day and contribute to the fundraising goal. It is anticipated that the Dorcas ACTS board will lead and run the local Aspley/Chermside Walk.

The event’s purpose is to raise funds for Dorcas ACTS, a charity Everald founded to provide emergency financial aid to people in crisis where ever they are located in Australia. Dorcas ACTS is a 100% volunteer-run organization, meaning all funds raised go directly to those in need.

How it works?

STAND OUT

Register to Become a Team Leader: To start a local WITS Walk, you’ll need to register as a Team Leader. This means choosing a safe 11 km, 5 km, or 3 km route in your community.

ASSEMBLE

Gather Your Team! Invite family, friends, colleagues, or your church group to join you. Teams need at least 4 walkers.

FUNDRAISE

Each Team commits to a minimum fundraising target, with all proceeds going directly to Dorcas ACTS to support Australians in crisis.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

On Monday, 5 October 2026 (or Sunday, 4 October in some states), your team will walk alongside thousands nationwide, connected in purpose to the flagship Uluru walk.

Base fee covers administration and stationary costs. SpiritWalkers will be allocated a walk number.
These local walks can be done on the Sunday or Monday - 4th or 5th of Oct, 2026
Suggested donations are $80; $150; $250; $300
