Dorcas ACTS, is a Christian mission of the congregation of the Aspley Uniting Church Qld. Dorcas is a person named in the Book of ACTS who performed charitable activities in her community.
Walk in the Spirit is an event established by DORCAS ACTS
Walk In The Spirit events are owned and managed by Dorcas ACTS. Dorcas ACTS is a charity to help those in crisis, run by volunteers, and with 100% of donations going to those in need. It is a charity of the congregation of the Aspley Uniting Church in Brisbane, Qld.
“Walk In The Spirit” and “Dorcas ACTS” are registered business names of the charity “Aspley Caring Through Service”.
Aspley Caring Through Service is a charity registered with NCVR, it has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, as such it is entitled to receive tax-deductible donations. This means that donors who contribute to organizations with DGR status can deduct the amount of their contributions from their taxable income, subject to certain conditions.

About Everald Compton
Everald Compton is the Patron of Dorcas ACTS and was the founder of the charity. He is a philanthropist, author, lay-preacher, and community advocate across several areas. Approaching 95 years old he is still indefatigable, very active, and involved in many community endeavours.
Everald is a distinguished Australian; he is a two-time recipient of the Order of Australia and Centenary Medal and has served as an adjunct professor at three universities. Everald has published six books.

The Event is to be organised by Dorcas ACTS and is intended to be an on-going event, possibly at different venues, occurring every year or two.
The Walk in the Spirit 2026 event is a nationwide charity initiative centred on a flagship 11 km walk around Uluru on Monday, 5 October 2026.
