Together, we turned compassion into action. On 5 October 2026, Everald Compton celebrated his 95th birthday in a remarkable way: leading an 11 km walk around Uluru alongside fellow WITS Walkers, with Helen Compton by his side.
Across Australia, local communities joined the movement, proving that when people come together for a common cause, every step can make a meaningful difference. What began with a goal to raise $100,000 for Dorcas ACTS became something truly extraordinary.
Thanks to the generosity, enthusiasm and support of our incredible community, the inaugural Walk in the Spirit (WITS) 2026 exceeded our fundraising target by raising $132,000 to support Australians experiencing crisis.
We had 80 walkers across Uluru and four local walks namely Aspley/Chermside, Compton Gardens, Hawkesbury NSW and Shepparton Vic.
We received funds from around ten corporate sponsors including our major sponsors Nauru Airlines and Morgans Financial.
