What a wonderful Walk in the Spirit 2026 it has been!
We’re incredibly proud to share that all 36 walkers who took part in Everald’s Walk around Uluru completed the full 11km.
On Monday 5 October, Everald marked his 95th birthday by walking around Uluru at dawn, joined by walkers who came together to support his goal of raising $100,000 for Dorcas ACTS.
And what started as a $100,000 goal has now grown into something even more exciting…
We’ve raised $117,100!
Our original $100,000 target has been reached… and exceeded.
Because of the incredible generosity of our supporters, we have now set a new target of $125,000.
And we’re not finished yet.
Local walks bringing people together
Walk in the Spirit has also been embraced by communities across Australia.
Our Aspley Walk had 15 walkers, Compton Gardens had 11 walkers, and Hawksbury had 5 walkers, with each group coming together to walk, connect and support the work of Dorcas ACTS.
And there’s still one more local walk to come. The Shepparton Walk in the Spirit will take place this Saturday, bringing even more walkers together as part of this year’s event.
We can’t wait to see the Walk in the Spirit journey continue.
The fundraising continues
While the main walks have now taken place, donations will remain open for the next few weeks.
That means there is still time to help us reach our new $125,000 goal and support Dorcas ACTS in providing financial assistance to people facing times of crisis.
Whether you walked, donated, sponsored a walker, volunteered, helped organise a local walk or simply shared our story, thank you.
Walk in the Spirit has been made possible by a wonderful community of people who chose to be part of something bigger.
From everyone at Dorcas ACTS, thank you for walking with us, supporting us and helping us turn care into action.
$112,000 raised. $125,000 is the new goal.
And the journey isn’t quite over yet.
Inspired to Care. Moved to Act.
